Even if company culture is transparent and respectful , employees may still feel the need to discuss certain workplace situations. Out of genuine interest in what someone is experiencing or wants to discuss, I listen to them. I listen to you with respect, without judgment and I do not differentiate. Respect, reliability, and empathy are core values for me. Working in the hospitality industry and aviation, I experienced many instances of inappropriate behavior, and in my work as a consultant, I also dealt with integrity issues; these experiences help me identify with people who need to share their stories. I am also one of the two confidential counselors for all members of the National Association of Confidential Counselors (LVV). I believe in the power of trust, when we trust each other we dare to speak up. I used to live in four different countries, therefor I know what it is to be an international in another country, I can relate to the issues one can experience.
Within an organization, I am visible—not just a confidential counselor on paper—but actively working with your organization towards a better and safer work environment. My mission is to free organizations from inappropriate behavior!

My mission is to empower people in their authentic strength.

To be authentic, it is important to know and assert your own boundaries. From this authentic strength, you can perform optimally for the organization. In addition to running my own coaching business, I am an external confidential counselor at Talk&Trust.

I have earned my stripes in Human Resources, with a focus on recruitment and selection, training, and change management. Within an international organization, I have worked with cultures from around the world. I am an independent and strategic thinker and can distinguish between different interests. I have an eye for people, a good sense of interpersonal relationships, and organizational culture.

As a confidential counselor, I stand beside the reporter/victim listen without judgment, and support them in exploring possible paths. Both privately and professionally, I have regularly dealt with undesirable behavior and integrity violations. From this experience, I listen without judgment, provide guidance, aftercare, and protection. I can understand situations that can cause undesirable behavior.
I am honest, empathetic, and dare to address the elephant in the room, always with respect and 100% confidentiality. I do what I say and I say what I do.

My goal is for employees to be able to and dare to contribute to the desired culture and the mission of the organization from their own authenticity.

I believe that there should be a place in every organisation where everyone can go to share their story. A place where they can find a listening ear, someone who can help and understand them, who has professional expertise and where they can always feel confident that their story will be kept confidential, no judgement and kept safe. That’s the essence of the role of the external confidential advisor.

In the 20 years that I have worked in organisations as an HR director, I have experienced first-hand how important and complex it is to create a safe workplace for everyone. This goes beyond policy and its practical implementation.

Trust and (psychological) safety are essential and often seem self-evident, but they require a lot of attention, time and leadership. Leadership as role model, encouraging open communication, actively promoting psychological safety and setting clear frameworks and codes of conduct are important pillars. Making a tangible impact on organisations and making a meaningful contribution to a pleasant and safe working environment is what suits me.

As an external confidential advisor, I am accessible, offer a listening ear, support and advice where necessary. I quickly gain trust, which allows me to get to the heart of the matter in a natural way during a conversation.

In addition to being an external confidential advisor and former HR director, I am also a business mediator and, in that role, I assist with various types of labour disputes and workplace conflicts.

I am always available to support and help you.In addition to running my own business as an independent external confidential counselor and trainer, I also serve as an external confidential counselor at Talk&Trust.I used to work for 20 years plus in Mental Health Care (including roles as a recovery coach, project leader, and location manager) therefor I have a valuable background in my role as a confidential counselor. I view situations from a broad perspective and, with my analytical approach, I can quickly get to the heart of a matter. My empathetic approach allows me to establish a deeper connection with people. Honesty, empathy, and maintaining or fostering an open dialogue with others are of great importance for me, always with respect and complete confidentiality. My mission is to motivate people to take control of their own lives.

After working for several years as an HR professional at Fokker and the Dutch Broadcasting Company, I made the transition in 2001 to personally guide employees through reorganizations and personal changes. I immensely enjoy seeing people take action, take control of their lives, and make positive changes. Contributing to this process is an honor and provides a great sense of fulfillment. My open and interested attitude makes it easy for me to connect with people, allowing them to share their stories and emotions. I fulfill the role of confidential counselor for ‘undesirable behavior and integrity’ with great pleasure and strive to support people who are professionally stuck in a pleasant way. Where people work together, chips fall

To get straight to the point. It is inevitable that friction will arise between employees. Unfortunately, it becomes a problem when it escalates into transgressive behavior.

After studying Cognition, Psychology and Business Administration, I worked in ICT. I missed something: attention to people. In recent years I have worked as a psychologist/coach from my own practice. In addition, I fulfil, with great pleasure, the role of external confidential advisor.

A safe working environment where people work together pleasantly, support each other and achieve a good result together is the most important thing to me.

When you experience that this is not the case for you. Then I’m here for you. I hope not only to be accessible but also to radiate confidence.

I listen to your story and look for suitable solutions or next steps in which you remain in control.

As an external confidential adviser, support person for the accused, and secretary to complaints committees, I am here for employees, managers and organizations. I offer a safe place to share your story, without judgement and with attention to the person, the role and the context. I help you regain perspective, explore options and take thoughtful steps forward, even when a situation is sensitive, complex or unsettled. Based in Drachten, I mainly work in the north of the Netherlands, but I am available nationwide as well. If it feels more comfortable, our conversation can also be in Dutch or Frisian.

Whether you want to share what is on your mind, are looking for clarity in a complicated situation, or need support in deciding next steps: you are welcome. Within organizations I am not merely a name in a policy document, but an engaged partner in building and sustaining a socially safe workplace. With a background in organization development, HR, management, coaching and project development, I look at both people and systems. I connect with what is already in place, contribute to thinking about policies, roles and agreements around (un)desired behavior, and help keep them alive in day-to-day practice. I am also available as secretary to complaints committees, where due care, clear process management and independent reporting are essential.

Professional foundation
In addition to my work as a confidential adviser, I work as a consultant in organization and career development. I hold a post-higher-professional qualification in business administration, am a NOBCO/EMCC Senior Coach and a NOLOC Registered Career Professional (RL). My experience as a manager of People & Organization, team coach, business adviser and program initiator helps me view situations from multiple perspectives. Professionalism and quality matter to me: I work in line with the professional codes of my associations and attach great importance to due care, confidentiality and integrity. About Willem

For 15 years, I have been a dedicated (freelance) professional in national and international healthcare. In my assignments, I have always focused on the human side of work situations.

In my work, I have often operated as a mediator in the field of tension between employees, patients, doctors, insurers, etc., always in a mediating role. In doing so, I always keep the question in mind: “who is the person involved and what does it benefit this person?” My keen eye for situations and strong communication skills are my strengths in this regard.

My commitment to people motivated me to become a confidential counsellor, allowing me to apply my empathy and understanding not for commercial mediation, but for human mediation. I am a versatile professional whom people enjoy working with.
